AMEDS Centrum clinic published a medical report which indicates that jugular veins angioplasty has a positive effect on improving the quality of life for patients who are suffering from multiple sclerosis. Treatments of this type are now highly discussed in global medical circles.

Chronic Cerebro-Spinal Venous Insufficiency, in short CCSVI, is a medical state which very often occurs in patients suffering from multiple sclerosis. It causes disorders that prevent the basic everyday activities. Recently, this disease is treated with vein angioplasty. Coexistence of both diseases and the therapeutic effects of treatment are highly discussed in global medical and science circles. Seminars dedicated only to the topic of angioplasty and its impact on multiple sclerosis are organised.

– Improvement in oxygen saturation of jugular vein was objectively identified as the effect of the venous patency after angioplasty – said professor Jerzy Kotowicz from the Department of Neurology, Medical University of Warsaw – The reports highlighted a significant positive impact of surgery on the quality of patient’s life, their level of tiredness, bladder, balance, vision and sensory disorders and, to a lesser extent, movement disorders. Improvement was also noted in the field of cognitive functions (memory, concentration, focus) – added professor Kotowicz.
